SPORTS THAT CAN ENHANCE YOUR DANCING

Thinking out of the dance is essential especially when you are trying to improve either your mentality or physique.  A lot of talented dancers had practiced different types of sports before they started dancing, for example; soccer, basketball and swimming. Sports not only can get your mind busy, but also, it can keep you active.  Sometimes dancers tend to get stuck in their dance so if you want to try fun and interesting things we suggest you give these sports a shot.
1- skateboarding
What’s unique about this sport is that it requires a huge amount of balance and flexibility even for doing the most basic stuff which is skating let alone doing the more advanced skills.  If you skateboard you will strengthen your quads meaning that the cleanness of your Top Rock, leg hit(for poppers) and so on will go up to the sky.  Falling and getting back on your feet is something you see a lot in skateboarding and if we look at this from a psychological aspect we can learn that motivation ought to be there for you to go on and learn more.  Yes, injury is something that we do want to avoid as dancers but don’t forget that falling off a skateboard will increase your tolerance of pain so you may want to consider that.  It’s also so affordable to get a skateboard so your bank account balance will more likely have a comma after you purchase it.
2- Parkour
You may want to set the bar high and take it to the next level by learning something that is a bit riskier than skateboarding.  If you wanted to kill the hesitance inside you and bring up more confidence inside you wouldn’t be mistaken if you started Parkour.  Not knowing where you are going to land requires a lot of confidence and if you are willing to learn power moves in break dancing this sport is the best fit for you.  It can also teach you a lot about your space so that you can control how your body move and how it does react with the surroundings.  Parkour, on the other hand, advocates for creativity; sometimes you need to come over obstacles such as a rock.  Creativity is something we chase as dancers so get your membership in that gym or hit those cool guys on the street up.
